Staff Spotlight: Angie
Hi Labels Lovers!
This week we wanted to share the spotlight with one of our Store Associates, Angie!
Get to know Angie with the Q&A below.
Q: How many years have you worked at Labels?
A: I have been working at Labels for 5 months!
Q: Who is your favorite designer?
A: My favorite designer is Nicky Zimmermann. Her iconic dress designs are the total embodiment of what I think is the divine feminine. It’s very flattering to the woman body, but also comfortable and practical.
Q: If you could only wear one designer for the rest of your life, who would it be?
A: If I could chose any designer to wear, it would be Zimmermann. I feel most comfortable in traditionally feminine silhouettes. I adore the airy silhouettes, puff sleeves, floral prints and frills.
Q: What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
A: One thing that most people don’t know about me is that I can play the violin, and quite well if I say so myself.
Q: Favorite thing to do in Walnut Creek?
A: My favorite thing to do in Walnut Creek is visit the downtown retail shops. I especially appreciate the window displays. I’m very analytical and drink in how much a window display reveals about a stores aesthetic and selection for the season. This first foot forward can predict the venues focus and collection mix most succinctly.
Q: What is your favorite and least favorite fashion trend?
A: My favorite fashion trend is the puff dress by an upcoming brand, Selkie. It’s my absolute dream dress. My least favorite trend is branding/big logos. They feel too busy and distract from the craftsmanship of any clothing or accessory.
Q: What are your career goals?
A: My future career goals aren’t really too specific. I would like to remain working with brand, shops, or companies that are transparent and environmentally conscious, and aware of the effects of fast fashion. As long as I can participate in the movement of sustainability within the fashion industry, I am happy. It would be nice to have my own business someday of course, but I would really like to experience different jobs in the industry before I find my niche.
